Asparagus Crowns UK
Green asparagus grown in Kent and sold throughout Kent to Farm Shops and at Farmers Markets. Traditionally the first available fresh vegetable of the English season, asparagus is eagerly awaited.
From the end of April, asparagus will appear at farm stalls and in Farm Shops. Supermarkets now have green asparagus on their shelves all year round from around the world; typically these lack the delicate taste and, of course, the freshness of asparagus grown in our temperate climate.
Asparagus growing is a labour of love and patience. From the rich manuring of the initial trenches to the daily hand cutting of the crop in season, attention to detail is richly rewarded.
The asparagus cutting season is from approximately May 1st to June 20th

NPFA History
We established our first asparagus beds in 1988 and over the past 21 years we have refined our asparagus growing and production techniques. Varieties have come and gone and yet some beds are now in their 10th year.
In 2003 we commenced soft and cane fruit production: to compliment and to extend our asparagus season we now grow the following crops: available from our Farm Stall and at Farmer's Markets.
